This is a preserved duck egg I was experimenting with. I thought it would make a great phoenix or dragon egg.

Re-shoots are available, just ask. Download for full size :)

These are my guidelines for using my stock:
:bulletred:Comment on my stock image to let me know you have used it.
:bulletred:On your deviation put a link to the image of mine you have used.
:bulletred:You can use my stock for any purpose (dA prints, pre-made bgs, websites, etc.) except if you are going to be selling it, in which case please ask first.
:bulletblue:I'd also appreciate a fav on any of the images you use, although this isn't a rule since we all have our own faving policies!

At least it's not the half duck/yolk egg. Some 'edible' things shouldn't be consumed, like lutefisk.

I've never come across them. Is the half duck/yolk thing a fertilized egg half way to being a chick?

I'm not linking anything because they are too gross. But if you Google Balut, you will see what I'm talking about it's considered good stuff in Vietnam and in Filipino cultures. Eee.

Ewww! The thought of putting that in my mouth makes me feel very sick. I'll remember to avoid that on any menus I see!

As I said, too gross to post completely. I'm happy to not live where that is a delicacy, seems like you feel the same.:giggle: Good think we both appreciate other things that are much nicer. (Still jealous of some of the locations you've captured.)

how did you do that? O.o

They are a delicacy you can buy from Chinese supermarkets. The eggs are buried in ash for a few months which turns the white into a black jelly. Then you shine a strong light through them to get the glow and highlight the crystals. But they taste and smell horrible!
